The concession for the construction of a Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) campus in Seremban 3 has been given to a company linked to a former minister's brother.

This claim was made by PKR strategist Rafizi Ramli today, as he continued with his series of exposes regarding six different concession deals for new UiTM campuses.

 

The company registered in Kuala Lumpur, which holds the RM1.5 billion concession for the campus, has a former Umno branch leader in Kuala Lumpur as one of its  directors.

 

The politician is also a director in another KL-based company that owns 29 percent of the shares in the main concessionaire, along with a leader from a right-wing NGO.

Rafizi also raised his concerns about the company that owns 29 percent of the main concessionaire, which he labelled as a “RM2 company”.

This is because the company had nothing but two shareholders and did not have any financial statement on display in the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM).

“The arrangement for this concession shows how crony capitalism is being used in Malaysia to enrich politicians who are close to Umno,” Rafizi said.
